Till now, there are only two films which opened with a 200 crore gross worldwide. These are RRR and Baahubali 2 which had also touched the 1000 crore mark worldwide as well. Both these films were directed by SS Rajamouli. Now with Pushpa 2: The Rule, everyone felt this may happen again. The film was also planned for August 15th this year to cash in on the holiday season. But it appears Pushpa 2 will be of no threat to Rajamouli’s record.
Pushpa 2 as said was first planned to release on Indian Independence Day. The trade even expected the film to open with a 200 crore gross worldwide as well. But The film will now release on 6th December which doesn’t have a holiday advantage. So it will be a big task to cross the 200 crore mark of Rajamouli’s films. The film may end up crossing the 100 crore gross mark worldwide easily.
The director of Pushpa 2, Sukumar is very much concentrated on the output of the film hence the postponement. Allu Arjun too doesn’t want to force Sukumar for the release date. Two songs from the film have already been released and met with good reception also.
