Premada Oorali Karnataka Box Office: Small Film Beats Toxic in Footfalls, Now Set to Cross It in Gross Too

The Kannada movie Premada Oorali has beaten the footfalls of Toxic in Karnataka

A small-budget Kannada film has pulled off something nobody expected. Premada Oorali has sold more tickets in Karnataka than Yash’s Toxic, the biggest Kannada film of the year, and it is now set to cross Toxic in gross as well. Still running strong in its third week, the film is heading towards the ₹100 Cr gross mark in Karnataka in its full run.

Premada Oorali vs Toxic: Tracked Footfalls

  • Toxic: 21.6 lakh (closing)
  • Premada Oorali: 27.08 lakh (still running)

Toxic closed its Karnataka run with 21.6 lakh tracked footfalls in 31 days. Premada Oorali has crossed that in just 18 days with 27.08 lakh tracked footfalls, and it is still adding big numbers every day.

Fewer Shows, More Tickets

The way Premada Oorali has done this is even more impressive. Toxic sold its 21.6 lakh tickets across 21,962 shows. Premada Oorali has sold 27.08 lakh tickets across just 13,732 shows.

Its occupancy stands at a massive 64.2 percent, the highest among the top 20 films in Karnataka this year. For comparison, Toxic closed at 31.6 percent, Dhurandhar: The Revenge at 36.1 percent and Spider-Man: Brand New Day at 32.0 percent. Audiences are not just coming, they are packing the theatres.

Gross: Toxic and Spider-Man Next

In gross, Premada Oorali stands at ₹55.13 Cr in Karnataka after 18 days, already fourth among the biggest runs of 2026 in the state. It has crossed The Odyssey’s ₹50.68 Cr and is now chasing Toxic at ₹72.91 Cr and Spider-Man: Brand New Day at ₹75.65 Cr. With its daily pace and the Dasara holidays ahead, both are within reach in the coming days.

Premada Oorali’s gross is behind its footfalls because its average ticket price is much lower, at around ₹204 compared to around ₹338 for Toxic. A large part of its audience is coming from single screens and smaller towns.

Biggest Footfalls of 2026 Next

In ticket sales, Premada Oorali is already the second biggest film of 2026 in Karnataka. Only Dhurandhar: The Revenge is ahead with 32.72 lakh footfalls from its full 85-day run. Premada Oorali needs around 5.6 lakh more tickets to cross it, and with an average of 1.5 lakh tickets a day so far, it can get there within a week.

The film is now on track to comfortably cross the 50 lakh footfalls mark. At its current average ticket price, 50 lakh footfalls would take its gross to around ₹100 Cr, in line with where the film is heading.

Beating the Big Releases Running Alongside

Premada Oorali is also beating the big films playing at the same time. In Karnataka, Drishyam: The Conclusion stands at ₹19.20 Cr after 11 days, and The Paradise at ₹12.20 Cr after 19 days. A film with no big stars has left all of them far behind in the state.

Premada Oorali is directed by Manoj Kumar and stars Shree Raam and Thapaswini Poonacha, with Rangayana Raghu in a key role. It released on September 25 with a limited release and has grown purely on word of mouth.

Note: All figures are Track Tollywood tracked collections, with tracking from March 18, 2026. Actual figures may vary slightly, but not by much.
