Vijay’s Jana Nayagan was announced for a 9th January release long back. The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, is also arriving on the same day, which means the Prabhas vs. Vijay battle is confirmed for Sankranthi 2026.
Initially, Prabhas and Maruthi’s horror comedy was announced for a 5th December release, but there was a huge buzz that it was moving to Sankranthi. Now the film’s producer officially announces that Raja Saab will be releasing on 9th January in the Mirai pre-release event.

With this, both films are arriving on the same date, and they will compete in all languages. So, the box office battle between Prabhas and Vijay is confirmed, and certainly, there will be some fight in finding screens in some areas.
Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’s release date is not yet announced, but it is likely to maintain a gap, and we need to see if it will be a 2-day or 3-day gap.
Naveen Polishetty and Ravi Teja are also releasing their films for Sankranthi, and another film from Kollywood, Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, is also releasing for Sankranthi.
