Prabhas is undoubtedly the biggest Indian film star of all time. Thanks to S. S. Rajamouli’s Bahubali series, the ‘Rebel Star’ has achieved unparalelled super stardom across the length and breadth of the nation. But after the historic success of Bahubali: The Conclusion, things went downhill for the actor, who had to suffer three back-to-back bombs.
This time, it was Kannada filmmaker Prasanth Neel who revived Prabhas’s disastrous career. Titled ‘Salaar-Part1: Ceasefire’, it has been fairly successful in bringing the macho star on track. This was followed by Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki in 2898 AD. Released amidst sky-high expectations, it received a mixed-to-positive response upon release.
Neverthless, it minted a staggering INR 1000 crore at the box office; most significantly, it emerged as the second biggest grosser at the North American box office (with a gross of $17.5 million) for any Indian film, only behind Bahubali-2. From now on, the two biggest Indian films in America belong to Prabhas. What a legend!
