NTR’s Adhurs is next in line of the Tollywood re-releases. The comedy entertainer will hit the screens on 18th November and the advance bookings have opened. The initial trends of bookings are not so good and even the big centres of RTC X Roads are showing limited bookings. In comparison, Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Shankar Dada MBBS released earlier this month had a better booking performance.
The lack of interest in Adhurs’ re-release has once again proved that the re-releases are not able to create magic like earlier days. Re-releases used to be a unique experience but now their novelty has worn off.
For Adhurs, it seems that even fans are not interested in celebrating. Even the general audience seems not interested and we need to see whether the bookings will pick up as re-release time gets closer.
Adhurs was directed by VV Vinayak, who earlier directed NTR in Aadi and Samba. While Aadi was a massive blockbuster, Samba failed to recreate the magic. Adhurs was the duo’s third collaboration and it was a massive hit and box-office success majorly due to its comedy. NTR and Brahmanadam’s comedy track along with Devi Sri Prasad’s foot-tapping music made Adhurs a massive hit in 2010.
