Phenomenal Opening for The Kerala Story at the box office

Director Sudipto Sen’s film, The Kerala Story, hit the screens on Friday amid massive controversy. On its release, the film surprisingly received poor reviews from the Bollywood critics, but the film seems to have impressed the audience, as it is proved by the good start it got at the box office. The movie collected a net of 8 Crores on its day 1 at the Box Office.

A small film opens with 8 Crores net on the first day that too with a very limited shows is a sensational to say the least. The trade circles are expecting the film to get a big jump on today as many shows are being added, and now everyone is waiting to see whether this movie also be able to create wonders at the box office like The Kashmir Files Movie.

What’s more surprising is that The Kerala Story has opened than the Karthik Aryan’s Shehazada and Akshay Kumar – Emran Hashmi’s Selfie. The reviewers tried to kill the movie by thrashing its content, but the audience have given their verdict with the box office numbers.

Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani, The Kerala Story was earlier officially described as the story of more than 32,000 Kerala women who have been allegedly been radicalized by Islamic fundamentalists. However, the number was changed to three from 32,000 after protests spread online stating that misinformation was being spread by the makers.

The Kerala Story movie revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan (Adah Sharma), Nimah (Yogita Bihani), and Siddhi Idnani (Geetanjali), who share their room with Asifa (Sonia Balani) in a nursing college in Kasargod, Kerala. Asifa, who is an aide to ISIS, how indoctrinates and brainwashes the three girls and converts them to Islam and what happens to them is the main crux of the movie.
