Ram Charan‘s Peddi is set to become the highest-grossing South Indian film of 2026, overtaking Suriya’s Karuppu in worldwide collections. Directed by Buchi Babu, Peddi has collected ₹250 Cr gross in just five days and is on track to surpass Karuppu‘s ₹310 Cr lifetime total by a comfortable margin.
Karuppu’s 2026 Record
Suriya, who did not have a proper hit in the last decade, scored a solid comeback with Karuppu. The film was also a success in Telugu, where it was titled Veerabhadrudu. With around ₹310 Cr in worldwide gross collections, Karuppu holds the position of the biggest hit in South Indian cinema this year.
Peddi’s Strong Opening
Ram Charan‘s Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu, received a decent response from audiences and critics and is performing well at the box office, though it could have done a bit better. Despite this, the film has posted impressive collection numbers in its opening week.
| Film | Worldwide Gross | Collection Period |
|---|---|---|
| Karuppu (Veerabhadrudu) | ₹310 Cr | Lifetime Total |
| Peddi | ₹250 Cr | 5 Days |
With its current pace, Peddi will become the highest-grossing South Indian film of 2026, marking another box office milestone for both the film and Ram Charan.
