With the release of Peddi just around the corner, the makers of the Ram Charan and Buchi Babu Sana combination film have applied for ticket price hikes in Andhra Pradesh. This has become standard practice for major Telugu releases, as the AP government's ticket pricing policy allows producers to request special rates during opening periods.
AP Government Approves Peddi Ticket Hikes
According to the latest reports, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved the ticket hikes for Peddi, and the official Government Order (GO) is expected to be released soon. The decision comes amid massive anticipation for the film across Telugu states.
For regular screenings, the government has approved ticket hikes for a period of 10 days starting from June 4 to June 13, with permission for five shows per day. Similar ticket hike approvals have been granted for other major Telugu releases this year.
Revised Ticket Pricing Structure
The approved pricing structure for Peddi is as follows:
| Screen Type | Price Hike | Final Ticket Price |
|---|---|---|
| Single Screens | ₹100 (incl. GST) | ₹247.50 |
| Multiplexes | ₹125 (incl. GST) | ₹302 |
The 10-day window with five shows per day is designed to capitalize on the film’s opening momentum. Ticket hikes typically help films recover their theatrical investments faster, especially for high-budget productions.
Premiere Shows and Advance Bookings
The makers are also planning grand paid premiere shows on July 3 from 8 PM onwards. Tickets for these special premiere screenings are priced at ₹600, including GST. Fans are already gearing up for the celebrations, and advance bookings are expected to witness huge demand.
Premiere shows have become increasingly popular for major star vehicles, allowing fans to catch the first show and participate in the festive atmosphere.
Telangana Approval Awaited
Meanwhile, the producers have also approached the Telangana government seeking similar ticket hikes. However, approval from Telangana authorities is still awaited. The film’s overall box office performance in the Telugu markets will depend significantly on getting favorable pricing in both states.
With strong hype, massive theatrical planning, and record-level expectations, Peddi is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year at the Telugu box office.
