Pathaan proves Hindi market is still bigger than Telugu and Tamil cinema

Post Pandemic, Bollywood cinema was in a very low period as even the big star films were crashed at the Box office. Everyone thought that it’s all over for Bollywood and soon the South films will take over the position.

But all it took for one big film to arrive, and Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan became the much-needed blockbuster for Bollywood. Pathaan brought back the Potential of Hindi market again. With its sheer dominance and humongous collections, the film proved that Hindi films market is still bigger than South Indian Films.

For example, this Sankranthi, a Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair veerayya has released, and it has collected close to 200 Crores gross in 15 days and Tamil cinema Varisu which was also dropped in the same season, and it has collected around 270 Crores gross until now.

But Pathaan has collected over 310 Crores gross just in 3 days which means it crossed Waltair Veerayya in 2 days and Varisu in 3 days which shows that Hindi market is still bigger than Telugu and Tamil Cinema.

Pathaan was released on Wednesday, a day before Republic Day 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. Pathaan is directed by Siddharth Anand and backed up by Yash Raj Films. The film smashed records even before its release with its incredible advance bookings. The advance bookings for Pathaan opened on January 20. Because of growing demands, theater owners in many parts of India had decided to have early morning screenings of the film.
