Gopichand and Rashi Khanna starrer Pakka Commercial was released this week amidst poor reviews. The word of mouth has not been as strong as expected, and the film has gotten off to a dull start at the box office. Directed by Maruthi, Pakka Commercial collected Rs 3 crores on its opening day and didn’t meet the expectations set by trade circles.
The buzz among the audience has been very low resulting in poor collections. The audio and trailer failed to create any expectations causing low openings. The theatrical rights are valued at Rs 20Cr and the 2nd-day noon shows have also started on a poor note. Unless the movie sees a massive turnaround in the weekend, the breakeven looks quite tough.
Both Gopichand and Maruthi are in desperate need of hit and had pinned high hopes on this film. Pakka Commercial stars Gopicahand as Lucky, a carefree lawyer who takes illegal means to make money. Sathyaraj featured as Gopichand’s father while Rao Ramesh played the antagonist role. UV Creations and GA2 Arts have bankrolled this film.
