The Telugu cinema industry is going to newer avenues with each release. Telugu films today are being shot and screened at places where one couldn’t have seen or imagined a few years back. Because of these new trends in the film industry, even movie promotions have taken a different route.
Promotions of movies are not just limited to pre-release events, teasers, or first-look posters. Now the makers are taking the route of paid premieres for spreading the good word about their movies.
Paid premiers worked extremely well for Major and Writer Padmabhushan. Right from the premiers, these two films received positive word of mouth. Adivi Sesh’s Major took a unique route for premieres and the promotional plan has been the talk of the town.
Major’s premieres happened in Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Bangalore, Lucknow, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Suhas’ Writer Padmabhushan team also did something similar across Telugu states and arranged 27 paid premieres all over.
Something similar happened in the case of Dhanush’s Sir. Now, Kiran Abbavaram’s Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha is also following the same strategy. And looking at the results of the films which went for paid premiers before their release, it appears that this trend will continue in Telugu cinema industry for most movies from now.
