Renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy, and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, have drawn audiences into the theaters. Both Oppenheimer and Barbie have opened with excellent numbers in India.
Actors Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s new film, Barbie, which was supposed to get affected by Oppenheimer, has opened with good numbers at the India box office. The comedy film, based on the popular Mattel dolls, was released on Friday and has collected Rs 6 crores net on. Day 1 in India as per trade analysts. Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie has clashed at the box office with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which made Rs 14.5 crore net on day one.
An interesting fact is, while Oppenheimer leads in India, Barbie performs better in the United States. As per the trade circles, Barbie has already earned $22.3 million in the US, whereas Oppenheimer has collected $10.5 million.
Both the films got a massive craze before release and even Indian audiences were also very excited to watch these movies. Because of both the films’ popularity, the release day of both the films has been named as Barbenheimer Day.
