AR Rahman is a name that needs no introduction to movie lovers. Over the last three decades, he has given several chartbusters and iconic tunes to world cinema. However, over the last few years, he has faced slightly tough times and been a bit off-key in terms of giving chartbusters like olden days. Tollywood’s Devi Sri Prasad is also a renowned name and has given chartbuster after chartbuster, especially during the early 2000s till the last few years.
Rahman leads the Tamil music and Indian music scene as well while DSP has been the leading new-age Telugu music composer for many years. But in recent years they both faced some tough times and at the same time, Thaman emerged as an option for DSP in Telugu while Anirudh has become the go-to choice for Tamil directors.
But now, the trend is changing and Anirudh and Thaman are receiving mixed responses for their recent works. Now, DSP is getting busy with multiple projects and the same applies to legendary AR Rahman as well. Currently, Anirudh is also demanding the same remuneration in the range of AR Rehman and the directors started preferring the industry senior.
Rahman, was in fact, never out of form. In reality, he just didn’t match the impossible standards that he himself set long back. With Ponniyin Selvan, Maamannan, Pattu Thala and now KH234 intro music, he has received widespread applause and has once again become the go-to choice for many biggies. Similarly, DSP gave Pushpa and has emerged as the go-to option after Thaman’s recent few films failed to meet expectations. All in all, it’s great to see the two making a strong comeback.
