The film came before Telugu audiences this weekend, but surprisingly, Officer on Duty drops on OTT in its first week.
Officer on Duty: The Latest Malayalam Blockbuster Arriving on Netflix
Starring Kunchacko Boban (2018 Fame) , Priyamani, and Jagadeesh in key roles, the film’s Telugu version was released 3 weeks after the original version’s release. This means it arrived in theaters yesterday, 14th March, but did not see any numbers at the box office as there is no buzz on the film.
Now, the shocking thing is that Officer on Duty drops on OTT in its first week. The film is arriving on Netflix on 20th March in all languages. Directed by Jitu Ashraf, the film received unanimous positive reviews from audiences and critics.
For the Malayalam version, it will be a 4-week theatrical window, which is fine, but the Telugu version was released yesterday, and it is arriving on 20th March within 1 week. Now the point is, what’s the need of releasing the film in theaters when they could have released it on OTT itself?
