NTR’s Next Film: Fans Worried

NTR's Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel, is the first film to be announced for the 2026 Sankranthi festival release, and 9th January was locked as the release date. The film's shoot did not start as per plans, and now it is certain that NTR's Dragon will not be released on Sankranthi or early summer. As said above, the NTR—Neel movie arrived on set late. At first, the team announced it would go on sets in October 2024, but the 1st schedule began in February 2025 last week in Hyderabad. NTR will join the Dragon sets in April. Due to a delay in shooting, NTR's Dragon will not be released on Sankranthi or early summer. It clearly opts out of the Sankranthi race. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravipudi's film was announced for Sankranthi 2026.

At a time when all Tollywood top heroes are entering the pan-India game, every single movie choice and combination has become crucial. The stakes are higher than ever and a mistake in script selection or director can lead to heavy financial losses. NTR’s fans are in one such situation right now.

He is reportedly in talks with Hi Nanna director Shouryuv for a project. This news has bothered the fans as they’re not sure whether this combination has the potential to do wonders at the box office. Undoubtedly, Hi Nanna was a beautiful film and a box-office success. But when it comes to stars, fans always want them to do films with big commercial films with established directors.

While doing films with class movie directors or newcomers, there is a high risk that fans do not want their hero to take it. We saw something similar in the case of Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam. The reports of this combo is not confirmed yet and NTR will not make any mistake at this point as he wants to build his image as a pan-India star.

His next film Devara’s second single announcement is expected this week. Post Devara, War 2 would be his next theatrical release. It needs to be seen if Shouryav can convince NTR or not.
