NTR wins the SIIMA for RRR in best leading actor Telugu category

NTR was honored with the prestigious Best Actor in Leading Role Telugu award at the illustrious SIIMA 2023 Awards as a tribute to Telugu cinema’s excellence. His remarkable performance in the action epic, RRR, is recognized by the SIIMA. The visionary SS Rajamouli’s global blockbuster has rewritten Indian cinema’s records and left a lasting impression on the international stage.

Upon winning the Award, NTR said, “I bow my head and salute all my fans for holding me up every time I fall down, for being hurt by every drop of water that comes out of my eyes, for laughing along with me when I laugh.”

RRR, which translates to ‘Roudram Ranam Rudhiram’, is more than just a movie; it’s a grand cinematic spectacle that tells a captivating story that is deeply rooted in Indian history. It is a testament to the dedication and creative brilliance of its team that this masterpiece is one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced. In addition, it has become the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, a feat that speaks volumes about its universal appeal.

The narrative in ‘RRR’ is driven by the characters based on legendary Indian freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The real-life heroes come from the Telugu regions of Andhra and Telangana, respectively. The setting for this fictionalized epic is their courageous battles against British colonialism in the 1920s

The performances by Ram Charan, who portrays Alluri Sitarama Raju (also known as Rama Raju), and NTR, who portrays Komaram Bheem, transcend expectations. Both of these two stars of South Indian cinema, who are heirs to powerful film clans in Tollywood, have given life to characters.

RRR has not only made a mark with its storytelling, but also elevated the music of Indian cinema to new heights. The film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Oscar for Best Original Song, making it a historic moment. The vision of SS Rajamouli and the exceptional musical composition of M.M. Keeravani combined to make ‘RRR’ the first Indian film to be honored with an Oscar.
