Tollywood Actors, NTR and Ram Charan rose to nationwide fame with their previous outing, RRR. This was directed by SS Rajamouli. The film became a blockbuster hit and went on to gain international recoginition as well with Netflix. So much so that a song, Naatu Naatu from the film won an Oscar Award. Now, both NTR and Ram Charan won the Best Actor Award for RRR in Filmfare Awards South 2023.
There has been a debate about who would get the Best Actor award for RRR. There were fan wars regarding the same issue on various social media platforms. Some felt NTR deserved this award whereas some others wanted Ram Charan to win. So it seems Filmfare award management wanted to avoid controversy and gave the award for both. They will receive the award in the award ceremony.
However both didn’t get any National Award for their performance. Allu Arjun became the first Telugu Actor to win this award for his Pushpa. RRR brought Rajamouli and the team so much of recognition worldwide. Rajamouli is also hoping to recreate this with his upcoming film starring Mahesh Babu. Currently pre-production works are going for the film and it may be launched officially this year.
