No Case from Ilaiyaraaja on Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu

Anil Ravipudi talks about Ilaiyaraaja in the success meet of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.

Apart from Chiranjeevi’s vintage performance and Anil Ravipudi’s entertaining direction, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu impressed audiences by using the popular song “Sundari” from Dalapathi, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, in the romantic track featuring Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara.

At the film’s success meet held today, director Anil Ravipudi clarified that Ilaiyaraaja will not file any case against the film’s team. He explained that the makers of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu personally met the legendary music composer and informed him about using his song in the film. Ilaiyaraaja was happy with the idea and gave his approval. Anil Ravipudi also stressed that there will be no issues if filmmakers properly approach the music director and take permission.

In recent times, news about Ilaiyaraaja filing cases against film teams for using his music without approval has gone viral, and this has led to debates on social media. Because of this, when audiences noticed the use of the “Sundari” song in a key romantic sequence in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, many wondered whether Ilaiyaraaja would take legal action against the team.

But the MSG team has now clearly stated that there will be no such issues. Their statement also supports Ilaiyaraaja’s stand on protecting his musical rights.
