Baahubali: The Epic crossed around 37 Cr worldwide on the opening weekend, and it is certainly a massive collection for a re-released movie, but looking at the trend, the film will not be able to cross the 100 Cr number at the box office.
The movie sees a considerable drop in collections on Monday, which is expected for any rerelease. Normally, re-releases will fall immediately after opening day, but Baahubali: The Epic maintains strong collections for the entire weekend, but still, the 100 Cr target stands far from it.
Baahubali: The Epic – Biggest Hit in Telugu Re-Releases, soon to cross India’s Record
Directed by Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, one of the landmark movies in Indian cinema has collected 27 Cr from India and 10 Cr from overseas in its re-release.
There were expectations that the film would easily do 100 Cr gross among a section of audiences and trade. But looking at today’s trend, there is no chance for the film to reach the 100 Cr mark.
The film will definitely set the benchmark in India for rereleases. Currently, Sanam Teri Kasam is the biggest grosser in India in re-releases with 40 Cr gross, and Baahubali, which is at 27 Cr in India for 3 days, is expected to cross this by the 2nd weekend.
