Mythri Movie Makers have entered the distribution business in Nizam and are hoping to hit big with their movies Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Traditionally, Nizam region distribution is the strong area of players like Sunil Narang from Asian Group and Dil Raju who himself is producing and distributing Varasudu and Ajith’s Thunivu.
Because of this, there is strong competition for screens in the Nizam region and old players like Dil Raju have a strong circle amongst the exhibitors. The exhibitors, however, have made the situation quite tricky for Mythri by them by offering a lesser share percentage compared to what they do for other distributors.
Mythri Movie Makers are demanding the exhibitors give the same share percentage as they gave to other distributors and the discussions are going on and getting prolonged. This is the reason for still bookings not yet opened. Veera Simha Reddy is slated to release on the 12th of January while Waltair Veerayya is scheduled for the 13th of January release.
This Sankranti season has already become heated up due to Dil Raju’s decision to release a dubbed movie- Varasudu in competition with straight Telugu films. While it all is a part of business, many are calling out his hypocrisy as just 3 years back he called for a priority to be given to straight Telugu films over other language dubbed versions.
