Netflix Numbers Disappoint For OG

Pawan Kalyan's OG fails to reach the expectations on OTT. OG's Netflix performance disappoints.

After receiving a decent response in theaters, Pawan Kalyan’s film OG started strong on Netflix with impressive viewership. However, it soon lost momentum and failed to maintain its initial success.

A movie like OG was expected to attract a wide audience on OTT platforms, especially since the makers announced it as a franchise film with both a prequel and sequels planned. Pawan Kalyan has officially confirmed that he will continue the OG franchise. For the franchise to gain a massive following, the film needed to perform strongly among audiences in other languages as well, but its performance on Netflix has been disappointing after the first week.

OG began streaming on Netflix on October 23rd. In its first week (October 23rd to 26th), it recorded 3.2 million views. In the second week (October 27th to November 2nd), the film gained 2.1 million views.

By the third week (November 3rd to 9th), viewership had dropped to less than 1 million, and the film was no longer listed in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Films. Altogether, OG has gathered around 6 million views on Netflix in three weeks, which disappoints fans and it is not a strong response for a film of this scale.
