Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Gopichand Malineni are all set to kickstart the shoot of NBK 111 on March 9th. The film, initially planned as a historical, has now been reworked into a high-end commercial entertainer.
From Historical to Commercial Entertainer
Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni joined hands for NBK 111 with plans for a grand historical film. The team invested significant time and money into pre-production. However, the OTT market downturn and the underwhelming performance of Akhanda 2 prompted a change in direction.
Gopichand Malineni has now scripted a mass commercial entertainer instead. The story change caused a three-month delay before shooting could begin.
First Schedule Details
The first schedule of NBK 111 is planned at the Hyderabad Aluminium Factory. The team will shoot an action episode starting March 9th. Sources say the makers want to avoid major breaks and maintain a brisk pace throughout the production.
Dasara 2026 Release Target
With an aggressive shooting schedule, the team is eyeing a Dasara release this year. If everything goes according to plan, NBK 111 could hit theatres in October 2026, giving Balakrishna fans a festive treat.
