Namitha complained through a video that an official at Madurai Meenakshi Temple did not allow her to have darshan and hounded her with unnecessary questions regarding her religion. The actress expressed deep regret at the behaviour of the temple committee members and their discriminatory behaviour towards her.
The actress was reportedly asked which religion she belonged to. Apart from this, she was also asked about her family origins and caste. The actress named the officials in a minute-long video and detailed how the authorities spoiled her plans to visit the temple for Janmashthami
