Mani Ratnam’s 1989 romantic classic Geethanjali, starring Nagarjuna and Girija Shettar, was all set to be re-released worldwide in a remastered 4K format on August 28, 2026. However, the team has officially announced that the re-release will not happen as scheduled.
The postponement comes as the film is currently undergoing extensive 4K restoration work. The entire team is putting in extra effort to ensure the best possible quality and cinematic experience for audiences when the classic returns to theatres.
