It is widely known that Akkineni Nagarjuna is part of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. During the promotions of his upcoming film, Kuberaa, Nagarjuna confirms that he plays a negative role in Coolie.
Right from the announcement, everyone thought that Nag would be playing the antagonist role in the film. However, a section of the audience felt that Nagarjuna might not do a direct negative role in another hero’s movie.
As said above, Nagarjuna confirms that he plays a negative role in Coolie. In one of the promotional interviews of Kuberaa, the actor said that Lokesh asked him whether he minded playing an antagonist role when he came for the narration.
Nagarjuna said that he asked the Kaithi director to narrate the script and said that he is not against a negative role. Halfway through the script, Nag got hooked and agreed to do the film after 6-7 times of re-narration.
Meanwhile, recently, Superstar Rajinikanth watched the first half of Coolie, and he liked it immensely and appreciated Lokesh Kanagaraj. Bollywood star Aamir Khan will appear in a crucial cameo in this action drama.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2025, for the Independence Day weekend. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Bashir, Upendra, and Kaali Venkat, among others.
