Nag Ashwin Takes a Big Risk with Kalki 2898 AD Movie

When making films with the backdrop of mythology, there’s both risk and reward. Some films excel with mythology themes, while others face criticism for not depicting it accurately. A recent example is “Adipurush,” where director Om Raut is still facing backlash for hurting sentiments.

Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki” has been officially announced to cover a period from the Mahabharata era to the year 2898 AD. Audiences are prepared to witness the story of Kalki, the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu, as foretold in our mythology. However, recent updates from the film, including the shooting of mass and beach songs, and Prabhas being introduced as Bhairava, are causing confusion.

Depicting divine characters in films comes with risks, and there should be limits to avoid controversy. It remains to be seen how Nag Ashwin will handle these aspects. There’s speculation that Prabhas might portray multiple characters, adding to the intrigue. Although the film is scheduled for release on May 9th, there are ongoing rumors about its postponement in industry circles.
