Muthu Re-release: All shows cancelled

Muthu re-release shows have been cancelled. It is widely known that recently the re-release trend has gained special craze as the fans started to re-release the old films of Star Heroes. However, the trend of re-release had lost its craze soon. The latest news is that Muthu re-release shows have been cancelled.

As said above, the re-releases are not working lately. However, still, a few parties are buying the old super hit films and putting massive amounts for rights and promotions. Rajinikanth’s Muthu was planned to be re released today.

However, the advance bookings were disastrous as no tickets got booked. So all shows in Telugu states have been cancelled.  Another Rajinikanth’s film, Shivaji is scheduled to be re released for his birthday this month, and we must wait and see whether it will work. So the trend of distributors losing money with re-release films continues with Muthu.

Directed by Famous Tamil Director K S Ravi Kumar, Muthu has Meena playing the female lead opposite Rajinikanth, which was released in 1995. The outstanding songs composed by AR Rahman continue to impress the listeners even today. Muthu, which was released on October 23, 1995, was not only a super hit film but also rocked the box office with massive collections.

Muthu movie ran for 175 days in many theaters in Tamil Nadu. Muthu was released in Japanese in 1998 and was a sensational success and grossed nearly 400 million in Japan Currency. With this, Rajinikanth has also earned a massive fan following in Japan. Sadly, Muthu re-release shows have been cancelled.
