Muthiah Muralidaran’s biopic, titled ‘800’, is slated to hit single screens and multiplexes across India on October 6th. The former Sri Lankan off-spinner is passionately promoting his biopic, preparing the audience’s minds in every way possible.
As per the bowling legend, what we can expect from the movie is an honest story-telling sans indulgent and obsessive depiction of his life. While being focused on his cricketing journey, ‘800’ will dive into his childhood, adolescence, and beyond. The ‘chucking’ bowling action will be of particular interest to an entire generation born after the 1990s.
Senior Tollywood producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad is going to release ‘800’ in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. “I am glad that Krishna Prasad, who has more than three decades of experience, is at the helm for this project,” Muralidaran says. Director MS Sripathy has cast Madhur Mittal in the role of the celebrated bowler.
He also throws light on the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup. While asserting that Sri Lanka is his only favourite, Muralidaran adds, “It seems that the Indian team is the clear favorite (to win the cup). Team Australia is also good. It’s impossible to say who will win with certainty.”
‘800’, co-starring Mahima Nambiar and Nassar, has music by Ghibran.
