MM Keeravani interview for Naa Saami Ranga

Naa Saami Ranga’: A Victory Like ‘President Gari Pellam’ -MM Keeravani

Starring the versatile King Nagarjuna Akkineni, ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ is introduced under the direction of renowned choreographer Vijay Binny, garnering substantial attention with its compelling promotional content. The musical compositions by Oscar winner MM Keeravani are proving to be entertaining chart busters. Produced by Srinivasa Chitturi with a substantial budget on Srinivasa Silver Screen, the film is set for a grand worldwide release on January 14th, marking a Sankranti gift from Saami Ranga. Keeravani shared insights about the film’s features in a press conference.

Q: Is Naa Saami Ranga a surprise package at this time?
A: I have always been selective in my film choices, and Naa Saami Ranga is indeed a surprise package. The hype of a movie comes from the released songs, and I don’t believe Oscars will ensure success. The film needs to connect with people, and the director plays a crucial role.

Q: What interests you about working on Naa Saami Ranga?
A: Working with Nagarjuna has been an educational and habit-forming experience. Our combination has consistently yielded success. The film marks the debut of new director Binny, who brings a desire to prove himself. It’s intriguing to collaborate with such emerging talents.

Q: ‘President Gari Pellam’ with Nagarjuna, ‘Annammaya’ from ‘Allari Alludu,’ and ‘Sri Rama Dasu’ showcase diverse film genres. How did ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ provide a unique experience?
A: Much like the success of ‘President Gari Pellam,’ ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ is poised for similar triumph. Both are village-based films, offering diverse and entertaining elements. Anticipating ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ to emulate the success of ‘President Gari Pellam,’ the title is fitting for Nagarjuna. The film accentuates Telugu and cultural traditions, embodying the spirit of Sankranti. Additionally, the music brings a fresh and vibrant touch to the movie.

Q: Did you write a song for the film?
A: Yes, Chandra Bose Gare is the lyricist for this film. Comparing it to eating rice with a little green, I emphasize that I’m not a professional lyric writer. I only write when necessary, such as during rerecording. The idea arises from such contexts.

Q: What observations do you have about the new director, Vijay Binny?
A: He makes decisions quickly, allowing the film to be made swiftly without compromising quality. His ability to maintain quality while working efficiently is his main strength. Despite being a dance master, he has crafted three excellent melodies, showcasing his maturity as a director.

Q: How do you perceive the success of a song, especially its virality?
A: The virality of a song is beyond our control. In the past, we gauged a song’s popularity by its presence at weddings. Nowadays, views seem to determine success. Our focus is on honest work, and the song’s virality is unpredictable.

Q: Any recent films whose music you appreciate?
A: Animal stands out, especially the background music in Jailer. I even conveyed my admiration to the music director.

Q: Are there specific songs of yours that linger in your memory?
A: I have a repertoire of up to one fifty, one hundred songs.

Q: When will your new film collaboration with Rajamouli commence?
A: To know about it, you should inquire with Rajamouli directly. If I call, it’s off (laughs), indicating that the project details haven’t reached me yet.

Q: What can you share about the songs in Hari Hara Veera Mallu?
A: We’ve recorded three songs so far.

Q: How is the progress of Chiranjeevi’s film?
A: Shooting is underway, and music sittings have commenced.
