War 2 was released in theaters with high expectations, and the initial expectations were that it would be the biggest grosser for Bollywood and would easily do 1000 Cr gross at the box office. Though the film ended up as a big disappointment, War 2’s producer faces minimal losses.

The spy action drama released in theaters on August 14th clashed with Coolie, but it failed to meet audiences’ expectations and opened with poor WOM and reviews. With that, the movie delivers a box office disappointment.

War 2 Box Office Performance: Huge Expectations – Poor Numbers

For the movie’s genre and the combo of NTR and Hrithik Roshan, the movie should have done at least 700 Cr gross to claim the hit status. But it just collected around 320 Cr gross for 11 days.

The above numbers replicate the box office status, but it does not mean that it gave a direct loss for the producer. The movie is said to be made on a 400 Cr budget. With a 400 Cr budget, the movie has recovered 50% with all the non-theatrical rights itself.
