Medium-budget films are not working for Mythri

Mythri Movie Makers are in superb form with 2 big hits under their banner early into the year. Both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy got career-best figures for their heroes and created several box-office records. While these two movies were released as a competition with Chiranjeevi winning it, the real winner was Mythr.

Their success ratio through big movies has been quite high. But, the same can’t be said about medium-budget movies where the success ratio is very less.

Savyasachi, Amar Akbar Anthony, Dear Comrade, Gangleader, Ante Sundaraniki, Happy Birthday, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali and now Amigos are some of the medium-budget films that released in the last few years under Mythri banner. All these films were either disasters or average flicks in terms of box-office collections. Only Uppena, Chitralahari, and Mathu Vadalara worked well for them despite being smaller movies.

Compared to this, Mythri has given some big blockbusters when it comes to Tollywood biggies. Srimanthudu, Janatha Garaga, Rangasthalam, Pushpa, Veera Simha Reddy, and Waltair Veerayya managed blockbuster collections and got the production house heavy profits. Considering these factors, it now needs to be seen whether the think tank at Mythri Movie Makers change their strategy.
