Director Maruthi, best known for his successful small and medium-budget entertainers, took the biggest leap of his career by collaborating with Prabhas for the horror-comedy The Raja Saab. However, despite carrying high expectations before release, the film received negative reviews from both critics and audiences and failed to make an impact at the box office.
The setback left Maruthi without an immediate project, with the filmmaker reportedly searching for his next opportunity. According to reliable industry sources, that wait may finally be over. Mythri Movie Makers is said to have signed Maruthi for a new film, with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja expected to play the lead role.
Meanwhile, Ravi Teja is gearing up for the release of Irumudi, directed by Shiva Nirvana. The father-daughter drama, which also carries a devotional backdrop, is scheduled to hit theatres this August. If the reports prove to be true, the Maruthi-Ravi Teja collaboration could officially begin once the actor completes his current commitments.
