Mardaani is a franchise owned by Hindi cinema’s Yash Raj Films. Starring veteran actress Rani Mukherji in the lead role, these series of films revolve around a ruthless female cop called Shivani Shivaji Roy and her journey in solving gruesome cases.
The first installment of the franchise Mardani (2014), idrected by Pradeep Sarkar, was a hit at the box-office . Following its success, a sequel titled Mardaani 2 (2019), with Mukherjee reprising her role, was released.
Both of these films are noted for their performances, screenplay, and direction. Celebrating ten years of the original film, YRF announced that a third film in the Mardaani franchise is on the cards. Starring Rani Mukherjee in the iconic role, the film’s title is yet to be finalized.
