Released in 2024, Manjummel Boys became a sensational industry hit of the Malayalam film industry, and now the survival drama/thriller sweeps the Kerala State Awards, which the audiences feel it deserves.
Made on a very low budget, the film saw a big success in other languages as well, and this year, this film’s record was broken by Mohanlal’s Empuraan, and thereafter it was again broken by Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra.
Manjummel Boys created history at the Kerala State Awards by sweeping a total of 11 awards. The film won Best Art Director (Ajayan Chalassery), Best Cinematography (Shaiju Khalid), Best Sound Design (Shijin Hutton, Abhishek Nair), Best Sound Mixing (Fazal A Backer, Shijin Hutton), Best Colorist (Srik Varier), Best Film, Best Screenplay (Chidambaram), Best Director (Chidambaram), Best Lyricist (Vedan), and Best Character Actor (Soubin Shahir).
