Soori’s Mandaadi is refusing to slow down on Netflix. The Tamil film has topped the Netflix India movies chart for the second week in a row, and it stays in the global Top 3 for non-English films.
Netflix’s latest weekly charts cover October 12 to October 18.
No. 3 Globally With 2.2M Views
In the global non-English movies chart, Mandaadi ranks No. 3 with 2.2 million views in its second week. Only Therapy Done Right (3M) and The Storm (2.6M) are ahead of it.
For an Indian film to stay this high on the global chart in its second week shows how widely it’s being watched, well beyond Tamil audiences.
Four Indian Films in the Global Top 10
Indian films have had a strong week on Netflix’s global non-English chart.
- No. 3: Mandaadi (2.2M views)
- No. 4: Reporting Live (1.9M views)
- No. 8: Enna Vilai: The Price of Dignity (1.2M views)
- No. 9: Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar (1.1M views)
That’s four Indian titles in the global Top 10, a big showing for regional cinema.
Netflix India Top 10 Movies (October 12 to 18)
- 1. Mandaadi
- 2. Reporting Live
- 3. Enna Vilai: The Price of Dignity
- 4. Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar
- 5. Epic
- 6. Vishwanath & Sons
- 7. Animals
- 8. Irumudi
- 9. Evil Dead Burn
- 10. Modha Rathri
Vishwanath & Sons Still Going Strong
Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons continues to hold its place at No. 6 in India, now in its sixth week on the chart. That kind of staying power is rare for a film this long after its OTT release.
Irumudi and Modha Rathri are also hanging on in their fifth week.
Epic Holds at No. 5
Epic sits at No. 5 in India in its second week. But it hasn’t made the global Top 10, which shows its viewership is still limited mostly to Indian audiences.
The Paradise Next
Next week’s charts could look very different. Nani’s The Paradise starts streaming on Netflix from October 22, and it’s expected to make a strong entry into both the India and global charts.
