Madha Gaja Raja starring Vishal released after going through a long delay of nearly 12 years this Sankranthi. The film, surprisingly achieved a positive word of mouth and emerged as a huge blockbuster collecting more than 50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Pumped up with the success achieved in Tamil, the makers made plans for the film in Telugu and released it here as well. But, the film became a big disaster at the box office here.
In Telugu dubbed version, the film failed to collect even the theatre rents on the opening day. The same momentum continued throughout the weekend disappointing the makers. There is literally no share for the film here shocking all. Vishal enjoys a good following in Telugu States and has also been a notable star with his previous films. But the film failed miserably ending up as a loss venture for the Telugu buyers.
This weekend also had audience choosing Sankranthiki Vasthunam which already became a big blockbuster grossing more than 200 crores worldwide. The film is still continuing the dominance with a strong 3rd weekend performance at the box office. From the matinee shows, the film has registered housefulls across many centres shocking the trade analysts.
