Legal trouble for Shankar as Lyca takes him to court over Indian 2

Legal troubles for Shankar

Maverick director Shankar has once again found himself at the receiving end of the law. This time he is facing legal proceedings from none other than his own movie producers. Lyca Productions which is producing Indian 2 has brought up legal trouble for Shankar over his non-compliance with the project.

The project which started shoot amidst much fanfare has faced continuous stoppages and now the shoot has completely stalled. This has left the project in jeopardy with no foreseeable future. Adding to this, lead actor Kamal Haasan’s political entry and upcoming TN elections have also added to the delay.

Shankar recently announced a political drama with Mega Power Star Ram Charan pushing Indian 2 further into disarray. The legal troubles for Shankar started with Lyca Productions accusing him of charging Rs 40 crore as remuneration out of which Rs 14 crore have been paid to him. The producers have also offered to deposit remaining amount with Madras High Court.

Another accusation that is causing legal troubles for Shankar is that he has already used up Rs 180 crore of the allotted Rs 236 crores budget. The makers have demanded a restraining order on Shankar from working on any other project till Indian 2 is completed.

The court however has refused to pass any order and wants to hear Shankar’s side first. With so many of legal troubles for Shankar, both Telugu and Tamil fans are now concerned over the fate of Indian 2 as well as #RC15.
