Somehow, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is killing the anticipation of the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) with his plans after Coolie’s release and result. His approach for his next films is disappointing fans.
Lokesh kicked off his cinematic universe with Kaithi in 2019. With the revelation of its connection to Vikram and the concept of a shared universe, fans couldn’t wait for Kaithi 2 to hit the screens.
Instead, Lokesh Kanagaraj created Leo and awkwardly tied it to the LCU, which fell flat. Following his work on Coolie, reports suggest he is gearing up for a movie alongside Allu Arjun.
Simultaneously, the film Benz, featuring Lawrence, which Lokesh did not direct, is being marketed as a component of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. However, audiences seem to lack significant interest in it at the moment. If Benz works, it’s fine, but if it doesn’t, it will be a big risk for the LCU itself.
After Vikram was released, people eagerly expected Kaithi 2, Rolex, and Vikram 2 to be released back-to-back, but Lokesh Kanagaraj continuously delayed these projects, which is killing the anticipation regarding LCU among audiences.
Delaying these films poses major risks for Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the final result remains to be seen.
