Lal Salaam starring Rajinikanth released this year and became a big box office disaster. The film received poor reviews and ended up as an embarrassment for the whole team. Lal Salaam is making its OTT entry soon. The director of the film and Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya finally spoke about Lal Salaam’s OTT version which will be different from the actual theatrical version.
Aishwarya said that an extended director’s cut of the film will be out with the OTT version. According to her, this will be completely different from the theatrical version. She said that they were able to recover some lost footage and this was added to the OTT cut. She opined that she was very particular about the extended cut which had to be in the same way the film was written. The director also stated that Music Director of the film, A.R. Rahman wanted to re-score for the extended cut and didn’t charge extra remuneration.
Lal Salaam is said to be arriving on leading OTT Giant, Netflix very soon. The film’s performance was a disappointment in the theatres and the team hopes to bounce back with the OTT performance. So, let’s wait and see the result on the OTT space.
