The recent release of Vishwak Sen, Laila crashed at the box office attracting widespread criticism and below-par word of mouth. The film which released on the Valentine’s Day failed to bring minimum audiences to the theatres as well. The female character played by Vishwak Sen met with huge trolling, and netizens fired on the Actor for the vulgarity in the film.
Vishwak Sen had to come up with an open letter on X/Twitter, apologizing to the Audience for crossing the line with the film. He also promised that he wouldn’t choose such films in the future. Laila released with a breakeven target of 8 crores and it collected 1.5 crore range share giving a big loss to the all the involved parties.
Laila also ended up as a big loss venture for the Production House, Shine Screens which is riding high on their previous success of Bhagavanth Kesari starring Balakrishna. Digital rights of the film were bought by Amazon Prime Video, and it is now expected to arrive in the next week mostly. After the OTT release, the criticism and trolls would be even higher.
