Akhanda 2, starring Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Srinu, did not receive the expected big success. Now, looking at the current situation, Koratala Siva and Balakrishna’s combination is the best one for both actor and director.
Koratala Siva has consistently worked with big stars and big films. From Mirchi to Bharat Ane Nenu, he delivered four major successes before facing a setback with Acharya. After that, he bounced back with commercial success through Devara. His next project was supposed to be Devara 2, but repeated delays have led to speculation that the film may be shelved.
Koratala Siva is yet to start his next film, even after the commercial success of Devara
As a result, Koratala Siva has been free for over a year without any new commitments. The six Tier-1 stars are practically out of reach for him at the moment, as they are busy with their own projects. Even though Devara was a commercial success, it did not give Koratala the same momentum he enjoyed in his early days with Mirchi and Srimanthudu.
Beyond Tier-1 stars, the next best options for Koratala’s style of filmmaking are Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. However, another film with Chiranjeevi seems unlikely due to the failure of Acharya and reported personal differences between them.
That leaves Balakrishna as the most suitable choice. Both Balakrishna and Koratala Siva could benefit from such a collaboration. Balakrishna has delivered five consecutive ₹100 crore grossers, but his films have not reached the bigger range of ₹200–250 crore because family audiences are not fully engaging with them. Koratala, on the other hand, is known for balancing mass and class appeal, which is why his films consistently attract all sections of the audience and perform strongly at the box office.
