Kollywood counters Tollywood about Varisu theatres issue in Telugu states

Varisu is getting controversial day by day. War of words started between Vijay fans and Telugu fanboys of Mega and Nandamuri family. However, the conflicts regarding the theater allocations now extended to Telugu film industry and Tamil film industry. The conflict is simmering and might blow out of proportions if responsible stakeholder do not step in and clarify.

At the center of the issue, Dil Raju the producer of film Varisu is present. His statement during 2019 Sankranthi defending his blocking of theaters for Telugu movies are being resurfaced to argue against huge number of theaters allocated to Varisu. Fans of Balayya and Chiranjeevi are against giving a huge number of good quality theaters to Varisu/Varasudu.

In response to the Telugu producers’ council statement regarding the suggestion given to Dil Raju to prioritize Telugu movies, Tamil producer’s council responded in a harsh tone.

Tamil council claimed that they never discriminated other languages films like KGF2 when Beast was releasing parallelly. This way they want Telugu producers to give maximum freehand for Varisu without restricting as a dubbed movie.

However, Telugu producers council and Tamil producers council are creating unnecessary controversies. It is known that theaters will anyhow be allocated to ones who are powerful. This discussion won’t help any small movies.

Also, when Pan India movies are rocking the nation, we can’t expect others to open up their market by restricting our market to outsiders. After all, we are one nation that celebrate cinema across languages.
