King of Kotha is off to a sensational start in Malayalam markets with record bookings from the premiers. The movie opened with positive reports and although the story is routine, the screenplay is presented in an extremely stylish and commercial way. Overall, the movie is quite engaging with excellent action sequences. The Interval and climax portions have worked out well for the film.
Set in the 1990s, in a fictional town named Kotha, the film is a tale of revenge and redemption. The film also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prasanna, and Nyla Usha in pivotal roles. The action thriller is Dulquer’s biggest and most ambitious film to date. Domestically, the film is all set to have the best opening for a Malayalam film ever and it may spring a few surprises overseas as well.
