Everyone was surprised with Kannappa, as the film was initially censored with 195 Minutes. It was reported Manchu Vishnu’s team will reduce the film’s length, and now, Kannappa’s runtime has been trimmed by 12 minutes.
Reportedly, the team trimmed 12 minutes 11 seconds from the final runtime and sent the film to be re-censored and cleared all censor formalities. So, the final theatrical runtime of the film is 182 minutes 51 seconds.
A runtime above 3 hours is still big, but the film’s genre and huge star cast demand it, according to the makers. So, it is confirmed that Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa’s runtime has been trimmed by 12 minutes.
The deleted scenes/visuals include some glamorous scenes of the film’s heroine, Preity Mukundan, along with some violent and sentimental scenes. A few visuals from the hero’s intro song were also deleted.
The film, which has been directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on June 27. Vishnu plays the titular role of Thinnadu (Kannappa), the fearless warrior-turned-devotee who transformed into the ultimate devotee of Lord Shiva.
Akshay Kumar essays the role of Lord Shiva alongside Kajal Aggarwal as goddess Parvati. Mohanlal appears as Kirata, while Prabhas appears as the messenger of Lord Shiva, named Rudra.
