Manchu Vishnu’s much-awaited devotional film Kannappa, released in theaters yesterday. The film’s collections are good, and while it needs more to do, the makers of Kannappa declare it an industry hit.
The film, based on Bhakta Kannappa’s real story, received mixed WOM and an opening. On the opening day, it collected around 13 Cr gross, and the share will be near 6 Cr.
If we look at it as a Manchu Vishnu film, the numbers are certainly good. But for the said budget and stars involved, it’s not a big opening at the box office.
Surprisingly, the makers of Kannappa declare it an industry hit, which shocks everyone. There is already a debate among cinephiles about this poster, and we need to see how the team explains it.
