Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar passed away a short while ago due to cardiac arrest in Bengaluru. The actor was reportedly working out in the gym where he suffered from cardiac arrest and was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was placed in the ICU. He was 46 years old and was one of the biggest Kannada stars with a huge following across the state.
One of the most loved actors, Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar was a popular name across the industries and shared a great rapport with all top stars. His death has shocked the entire state, with industry colleagues and fans still not able to come to terms with the fact. Thousands of fans gathered outside the hospital on hearing the news and the state has gone into mourning.
Hailing from a film family, Puneeth was the youngest son of the legendary Kannada matinee idol, Dr. Rajkumar. Fondly known as ‘Powerstar’, Puneeth worked in numerous films as a child actor before debuting as a hero with 2002 blockbuster ‘Appu’. The film was later remade in Telugu as Idiot. The success of Appu made Puneeth a household name and his career rocketed off establishing him as the top star in the industry.
Puneeth’s older brother actor Shiva Rajkumar and family members were seen entering the hospital while actors Yash, Darshan, and many others too reached soon after. Karnataka C.M.Basavaraj Bommaiah also rushed to the hospital and will address the media shortly.
