Kamal Haasan making things worse

Kollywood Veteran Actor Kamal Haasan recently stirred a big controversy with his speech at the Thug Life’s Audio Launch event. The Actor, while speaking, opined that the language Kannada originated from Tamil. This instantly became controversial and viral on social media platforms. Many slammed Kamal Haasan for his invalid remarks and demanded an apology.

However, Kamal Haasan didn’t issue an apology and continued his stand, stating that he loves the Kannada language and Karnataka. He said that he wouldn’t apologize if he felt he shouldn’t. This again caused an issue with a few Kannada activist groups and Netizens giving calls to ban the film in Karnataka.

With this attitude, it remains unclear if Kamal Haasan feels that Kannada had truly originated from Tamil. This has no validation since there is no proof. The Actor also seemed not to care about the emotions of people of Karnataka who demanded an apology, believing that Kannada originated from Tamil.

It is learnt that the activist groups and few film personalities are considering a ban on Thug Life with the attitude of Kamal Haasan. There may be a clarification regarding this tomorrow, and this is not at all a good sign for both Kamal Haasan and Thug Life. Kamal Haasan must not turn this into a war between languages and states unnecessarily.
