Kalki 2898 AD is the biggest film of this year which is set for release on 27th June. Aswini Dutt who’s producing this big-budget marvel has opted for their own release in most territories through multiple distributors on a commission basis.
Like Salaar, the movie’s digital rights are sold to two streaming platforms. The South Indian language’s digital streaming rights were bought by Prime Video while the Hindi rights were bought by Netflix. The film is expected to arrive first on Prime Video as for Hindi version streaming there is a window of 8 weeks. Whereas for southern languages there are no restrictions.
Nag Ashwin has already stated that Kalki will show something that’s never been attempted in Indian cinema before. While this is a great indication of things to expect in Kalki 2898 AD, a clear understanding on the release date has given a bigger boost and heightened the anticipation for this project.
The film features several big stars like Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone among others. Since the film is based on several historical characters, each character’s intro will continually raise the buzz. Nag Ashwin and co. are super confident about the Kalki 2898 AD and releasing the film on their own.
