After an excellent 2nd weekend, Kalki 2898 AD saw a drop in this week’s collections Yesterday, in Telugu states, the share was less than Rs 1 Cr. Even in other languages, the collections dropped a bit. The film is already a huge success and has managed to collect huge gross in domestic as well as overseas market.
But now, the question arises whether is will join the exclusive Rs 1000 Cr club or not. At the moment, this equation looks tough as Kalki 2898 AD has so far grossed around 840 Cr. Collecting around 160 Cr from here looks tough. With Indian 2 releasing on 12th July, it needs to be seen how this Prabhas starter manages to perform on its 3rd weekend.
If Indian 2 opens with positive word of mouth, then definitely there is no chance for Kalki 2898 AD to join 1000 Cr club. However, looking at the current buzz and lack of general interest in Indian 2, the film requires an extraordinary word of mouth and positive reviews to get off a rocking start and stop Kalki’s box office run.
