Dulquer Salmaan’s film Kaantha was originally set to release on September 12, but it has now been postponed indefinitely. The decision was made to give more space to Lokah, the Malayalam superhero film starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, which is currently doing very well at the box office.
Since Lokah is produced by Dulquer himself, he didn’t want to affect its successful run. A new release date for Kaantha hasn’t been announced yet, but there’s talk that it might aim for a Diwali release.
Dulquer Salmaan postpones Kaantha as a respect to Lokah’s Success

The film is being made on a large scale by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese under the banners of Spirit Media Pvt. Ltd. and Wayfarer Films Pvt. Ltd.
Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead. The teaser caught people’s attention with its unique style, and many in the industry believe the story is inspired by a real historical figure, adding to the excitement.
The film is said to be based on the life of MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, often called Kollywood’s first superstar. Known as MKT, he began his singing career in 1920, became a popular stage performer, and entered films in 1934.
